School Safety

Riverview School utilizes the ALICE, which is an active shooter response training program that teaches people how to to make decisions in respose to a violent threat. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
The program is not a series of steps to follow in order, but rather a way to remember the options that can be use in an emergency to stay safe in the event of a violent intruder.
Staff are trained in the A.L.I.C.E procedures, and have worked with local law enforcement to ensure that they are prepared in case of an emergency. ALICE is explained to students in a developmentally appropriate way, focusing on ensuring safety as our number one goal.
