School Report Card

Dear Riverview Families,

As part of our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement, we are pleased to share information about our district’s Accountability Report Cards for the 2023-24 school year. These report cards, released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), provide valuable insights into our schools' performance and progress in several key areas.

Our goal is to communicate these results clearly. While some areas of the report card can be compared to prior years, it is important to note that DPI has made changes to the Achievement Scoring System. These changes align with the recently revised Wisconsin Academic Standards and have resulted in higher student proficiency rates. However, this limits direct year-to-year comparability. To address this, DPI adjusted the report card formula to maintain consistency in overall scores compared to previous years. For a better understanding of annual progress, DPI recommends focusing on non-achievement areas such as Growth, Chronic Absenteeism, Graduation, and Attendance. These areas provide a more accurate picture of overall progress.

Key Components of the Report Cards

The report cards measure multiple factors, including:

  • Achievement: Forward Exam scores and proficiency in key subjects.

  • Growth: Improvement in student learning over time.

  • Target Group Outcomes: Growth of specific student groups (e.g., economically disadvantaged students, students with disabilities).

  • Chronic Absenteeism and Attendance: Attendance patterns that impact student success.

Growth calculations compare students based on factors such as prior test scores, economic status, race/ethnicity, disability status, gender, and English Learner status. This provides a comprehensive understanding of how our students are progressing compared to their peers statewide.

Highlights and Celebrations

We are proud to share some key achievements and a snapshot of our report card:

  • Riverview continues to rank 12th in the state overall for K-8 schools.

  • We are ranked 3rd in our area.

  • Both our growth and achievement scores exceed the state average.
